This is unrelated to the production site, so I'm removing the target version.

André, cdev.gc.cuny.edu is not currently Apache-protected; there should be an .htpasswd check. I believe you used to have it set up at the level of the global Apache settings. Could I have you reinstate this? Thanks.

For the time being, I will shut off email throughout cdev (at the WordPress level).

Thank you, Boone.

So, in my view this kind of stuff really belongs up front so I put it in /var/www/html/.htaccess, ok?

Fine by me. (Not sure why it was originally at the global apache config level.) Thanks, André!

I've lifted the restriction on outgoing email on cdev. The problem should now be resolved. Apologies to the member(s) who received these emails in error.
