Description
Hi All,
The folks working on the Oral History archive I mentioned on Friday are asking about adding fonts to the commons. From the user team:
"Would it be possible to add these fonts to the Commons system for our Land Use Organizing Oral History website? One is free and one needs to be purchased. Can I pay for the font that needs to be purchased? I’ve cc’ed my collaborator, Selina Byeon, here who is working on building the site."
The two fonts are:
Flash D Light (for headers and large text)
https://www.youworkforthem.com/font/T1087/flash/buying/
League Spartan (for sub-headers and body text)
https://fonts.google.com/specimen/League+Spartan?query=league+sparta
Are wew able to add these fonts? What is process for adding a paid tool? Do they need to purchase first and then we add?
Thanks for you help.

For the Google font, the Commons offers the plugin wp-google-fonts, described at https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-google-fonts/.
As for the other font, it appears that https://www.youworkforthem.com/font/T1087/flash/buying/ does not offer a webfont, but https://www.myfonts.com/products/flash-complete-family-pack-package-328720/licenses does. The user would have to purchase an appropriate Webfont license (based on anticipated pageviews). Once purchased, myfonts.com should give you instructions on how to use the webfont. Pass those instructions along to me, and I'll set up a plugin specifically for the site in question so that they can load the font. (Alternatively, myfonts.com might allow loading this specific font by using a remote @font-face
call in your custom CSS, which won't require intervention from me at all.)

Thanks Boone. I have relayed this to the user and will let you know if they pass along any instructions related to the webfonts license.
