Description

What's the name of the plugin/theme? *
Cool Timeline

In a few words, what does it do? *
It's a free plugin that allows you to create modern-looking, simple vertical or horizontal timelines.
Please provide a link to the plugin on the WordPress theme repository or (https://wordpress.org/themes/) plugin repository (https://wordpress.org/plugins/) *
https://wordpress.org/plugins/cool-timeline/

Please research the release history and popularity of the plugin. How many times has it been downloaded? When was it last updated? *
It has been downloaded 20,000+ times. Last update was 6 days ago.

How is the plugin/theme different from what's already provided on the Commons? *
The current timeline plugin available on the commons (Knight Lab TimelineJS) is not a good fit for the project I'm working on. It has a heavy focus on photos, and Cool Timeline will enable user to create a more compact timeline that also works well with text-only content. Cool Timeline also creates a more modern looking product.

Please let us know who you are (include a link to your site) and who will use this tool? *
My name is Ariane and I'm a Web Design Consultant working with Professor Vivian Louie to build a site for the Asian American Studies Oral History Project. The URL is https://hunteraashistory.commons.gc.cuny.edu/
I would like to use the plugin to improve the look and user experience of the timeline page on the site (https://hunteraashistory.commons.gc.cuny.edu/1940s-1960s/)

The plugin looks good to me. https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cac/commit/ee3bde9d68179080ca93bce045afe802f6f2f87f It will be available after the next maintenance release on August 13.
