Description

I would like to have the Post-Index plugin installed. I'm hoping to use it to allow members of the English Student Association to create their own profiles that are then organized alphabetically.
The plugin address is: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/post-index/

Currently the ESA site (gcenglish.commons.gc.cuny.edu) has a place for profiles. It's located under the Meet menu item. Rather than a page, it's a category filter, so posts categorized as, say, Student Profile will be distributed to the Student Profile section. The problem is that the default for WP is date order. That is not particularly helpful for a directory. The Post Index plug in should allow me to create a page and, as long as contributors are directed to write the names last first, should display correctly. I haven't come up with a solution to list names alphabetized by last name when the last name is not in the first position. This seems like a good enough until then.

Thank you,
Paul

Dom, could you have a look at the plugin and give your impressions? I'm putting this tentatively in 1.4.7.

I see no problems with this plugin. However, I'm leaving it open for now and holding off on adding the plugin to the repo.

Please see my comment in the related feature #2164

I will add this plugin once we resolve those observations/reservations.
