Bug #22625
openCloudflare timeout error
0%
Description
Hi all,
I am still getting cloudflare timeout error page on most pages I am trying to access on the Commons. I realize this is likely related to issues discussed yesterday but also saw Boone's ticket from last night. Just wanted to send this update.
This morning I have been trying to access:
https://gcdi.commons.gc.cuny.edu/people/
https://tlcdevsite.commons.gc.cuny.edu/
I have been able to load my logged in home page, but only after several refreshes after getting the cloudflare screen.

I'm also seeing slowness, but it's intermittent. Sometimes pages such as the ones you've linked load roughly normally, while other times they take 20-30 seconds, and occasionally they don't load at all.
In any case, I'm continuing to talk to Reclaim about potential sources of the slowness.

@Boone-- just flagging that I'm frequently getting the Cloudflare error on https://tlcdevsite.commons.gc.cuny.edu, even when the CAC main site is loading. That site has continuously run slowly, even before we were getting these issues.
This is the space where we're redeveloping the TLC site; it's using the Neve theme, and has multiple page builder plugins activated (Kadence, Otter, Atomic blocks) as part of the development process. Any chance this setup could be causing the slow/down time on that particular or site, or, perhaps broader issues?

Hi Luke - I've taken some time this morning looking specifically at this site, to see whether (a) I could find clues about why that site is specifically sluggish, or (b) there might be some hints in the slowness on tlcdevsite that point to broader problems on the Commons. Sadly I couldn't really find either. That being said, I've found that the site is fairly usable - pageloads while logged in are 1-2 seconds on the front-end, 3-5 on the back-end. This is what I would expect with a site running so many page builders, which tend to drag down site performance in a pretty serious way. I assume you plan to deactivate some of these plugins once you launch your production site, in which case I predict that most of the performance problems specific to this site will go away.
Please do continue to monitor and let me know if you can identify any specific performance patterns.
