CBOX group sign up - default email setting

When setting up a group in cbox, the default email setting is "No Email" -- users have to manually select "All Email." "All Email" should be the default.

Is this a issue or a Commons In A Box issue? I will make the change on if that's what you mean, but I'm not keen on making this change in Commons In A Box. I'd rather add documentation on how admins can do it themselves.

Hi Boone,

It's a Commons In A Box issue. Can you explain the source of your disagreement? To me, the system has to have a default and the default should be a setting that encourages communication rather than one that may leave people missing out on notifications that they thought they should have been receiving. Starting out with a setting that ensures people hear from their groups but then making it easy for them to dial back the settings if desired seems great to me. The danger with the "No Email" setting as a default is that there will be many people who expect to hear from groups but never do and will never go back to change their settings.

So, my preference would be to make "All Email" the default but then also to add documentation as you suggest.
