Description
I created an "about" page for CBOX and noticed that when a link to a twitter profile (http://twitter.com/mkgold) matched a CBOX username (mkgold/), the link on the live page was rewritten to the CBOX profile rather than to twitter. Thus, even though the post in question includes the link twitter.com/mkgold, that shows up on the live page as commonsinabox.org/members/mkgold/

Looks like you've found a BP bug. I've opened a ticket: https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/4680
A workaround is to use @
instead of a raw @-sign. I've made this change in the Project Team post.
I'm going to close this one, as a proper fix will be inherited whenever it's fixed in BP.
