Description

The new update on the Commons 1.4.11 has some changes to Google Calendar Plugin. I have one link on my menu bar which is linked to my Google Calendar, but after the update, the calendar displays at the very top of the whole page, instead of the in the content page. Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks.

Hi Matt and Dominic,

Thanks. I changed the plugin from WPNG Google Calendar to another plugin Google Calendar Events and solve the problem. Thanks.

Hi Rowena,

Glad the new calendar plugin fixed the issue. However, you are still using the old WPNG Google Calendar widget in your sidebar. This is the old plugin that has been replaced due to lack of updates and conflicts with other plugins. This is the plugin that's causing the NextGEN slider to not work on your site.

If we could get that calendar out of the sidebar and replace it with the new Google Calendar Events widget I think we can close out this issue and the NextGEN (#2138) one as well.

Please let me know if you need assistance with this or if you'd prefer I just do it for you, I'm fine either way.

Hi Dominic,

Sorry I have not check redmine for a few days. Per your suggestion, I deactivated some of the plugins that I am not using. I also tried Google Calendar Events widget and put it at the end of the sidebar, but there is no place to put in the ID number, so it is not showing the calendar. Would you please give it a look? Once this widget works, I will deactivate the WPNG Google Calendar. And then try NextGEN slider. Thanks.

Rowena,

First, I'm sorry about the incredibly long time it's taken me to get back to these calendar and gallery issues.

I've completely re-read both this issue and #2138 and I think we're very close to finally closing out these issues and getting your site working the way you'd like it to. I've reviewed your plugins and see that you have disabled quite a few. That's great. I see that both Google Calendar plugins are still activated. I added the new Google Calendar Events widget to the sidebar right above the old WPNG Calendar widget. They both appear to display the same information. Which I believe means that we can disable and remove the old WPNG Calendar widget and move forward with the new one. This should allow us to go back to Nextgen and get a nice gallery slider up and running for you (since the old WPNG plugin is causing the issues with that process).

Please take a look at the site and let me know if everything looks OK to you. If it does, let me know and I'll disable/remove the old calendar widget and get Nextgen all setup for you.

Hi Dominic,

Thank you so much for this. I checked the plugin and it looks great. You can disable the old calendar widget. Would you please help me set up Nextgen when you have time? It is not urgent.

Thanks again.

The old WPNG Google Calendar plugin has been disabled.

I'm closing this issue and moving back over to the gallery specific issue (#2138) so we can work on getting the NextGEN gallery setup and working the way you'd like.
