Bug #241
closedEmailed Group Activity Updates Contain Escape Characters
0%
Description
I'm finding that emailed group activity updates contain escape characters. Example:
"I\'m sorry to do this, but I\'d to ask all of you to join another Group Admin group instead - http://commons.gc.cuny.edu/groups/the-group-for-group-admins/ . I hadn\'t realized that Brian had already created it when I made this one."

Invite Anyone uses some WP core email address filtering. On the Commons we hack the core with every upgrade to allow for wildcard emails (*.cuny.edu). I have turned off domain verification for Invite Anyone to avoid the problem. A more substantial answer would require substantial amounts of core modifications to WordPress.

I'm going to escalate this ticket, Boone, because it's an annoying problem. And it looks to me like your update to this ticket was meant for another ticket.
Any chance you'll have a chance to work on this?

Hi Boone,
I'm re-opening this ticket because I just received an email notification from a group that contained escaped characters. The text involved was entered as a description of an uploaded document. Here is part of what I received:
Description: Serving as a skeleton \"report\" to the full .. . .

This is a group document specific issue, so I'm opening a new ticket.
