Description
Jason Neilsen reported that posting by email isn't working for him. I just tried it myself by sending this:

I didn't get any sort of bounceback, but it also didn't post. What would be helpful to you to see where it went?

Looks to me like it was not posted to the right email address - the cuny.is part is a giveaway. Ray, can you confirm?

I was going by the instructions on the Help page (https://help.commons.gc.cuny.edu/reply-by-email/)
You can even post a new topic via email. Make sure you send from the email address shown in your Commons settings and use the group’s quick link appended by “@groups.commons.gc.cuny.edu.” For example, if the group’s quick link is cuny.is/omeka, post your topic to: “cuny.is/omeka@groups.commons.gc.cuny.edu”.

Ah, I might have it wrong then - Ray will be able to say more.

This information is incorrect. cuny.is/ cannot be prefixed to the group email address. The group email address for this group is omeka@groups.commons.gc.cuny.edu.
You can also find this info by clicking on the Email icon located in the top-right corner of a group page. I've adjusted the help article to mention the "Email the Group" dialog and have also added a screenshot:

Not showing nor a bounceback

I'm looking into this. It looks like when we got Reclaim to tighten the Cloudflare firewall near the end of December, that our post-by-email handler might also have been accidentally blocked. More to come.

I've sent a support email to Reclaim about allowing our inbound email provider, SparkPost, to bypass the recent captcha challenges. Will update this thread once I have more info.
Boone, there were some SparkPost webhook email alerts sent to the cunyacademiccommons@gmail.com account in the middle of December during the time the Cloudflare firewall tweaks occurred. To prevent us missing any messages from SparkPost in the future, I've just set up our cunyacademiccommons@gmail.com account to forward any response from SparkPost to my email address. Just wanted to ping you just in case Google bombarded you with Gmail security alerts! :)

- Status changed from New to Reporter Feedback
The good folks at Reclaim have added some firewall rules to allow our post-by-email service to work again. I just did a few tests replying by email and posting a new topic by email and both are working as expected.
Marilyn, can you ask Jason to try posting by email again?
Update: It also appears that all previous attempts at posting by email today are now going out at around 8pm ET.

Thanks a million, Ray! Looks resolved to me. I've asked Jason to give it a go.

And Jason reports success. You can close this. Thanks again!!
