Description

Allows users to cross post on any other blog they have access to. Would be a great solution for the community team -> news blog.

That would be great. Do you happen to know whether it also syncs comments, or is that something we'd have to develop for it?

To the best of my knowledge, it doesn't sync anything. It publishes the posts in two different places at the same time. In my mind, I'm imagining using it just like FWP, in that permalinks on the News blog will go back to the origin blog, so that all commenting happens there instead of on the News blog.

It'd be possible to write something that actually makes the same comments appear on two different blogs in a totally synchronized way. But we should first ask ourselves in what way that's preferable to the setup above. (I can see arguments in both directions.)

Had a chance to check out this plugin. Definitely won't work for our purposes. It auto-posts to all of a user's blogs, and doesn't give any finer-grained controls. If we want something like this, it'll have to be custom built or from a different source.
