Description

Starting a new ticket for this since it's not related to the origin of this question, which was in another (now closed) ticket.

Matt left a comment on redmine regarding CUNY undergrads not being allowed to create accounts on the commons. At the time I didn't think much of this since I figured I'd forego the buddypress features and just focus on the course blog. However, I was planning on using the group blog as a space for students to create content, but it looks like that is not an option unless they are members of the commons as well.

I just wanted to confirm that this is the case before I move my site to another host :/

Thanks!

Right. They can comment on blog posts without having accounts, but if you want them to author blog posts, I'm afraid that you'll need to use a different host.

Apologies -- it's a painful policy, but there's no way we can support CUNY's 500k undergrads, so we're urging campuses to create Commons-like installs.

On what campus will your class be held?

Thanks, Matt. That was what I was afraid of. The class is at Hunter.

Shoot. That's not one of the campuses with a WP install as far as I know. Sorry.

Closing this ticket due to recent changes in our enforcement policy regarding undergrad courses on the Commons. Keith, please reach out privately to Matt if you have more questions, and thanks!http://commonsinabox.org/members/
