Bug #2595
closedGroup invitation script

Description
One of our members noticed that the invitation he received to a group mentioned that it came from a friend when, in fact, he and the person in question haven't established a friend connection:
CUNY Academic Commons <commons@gc.cuny.edu> 5/21/2013 7:01 AM >>>
One of your friends Erika Herzog has invited you to the group: "Librarians @ CUNY".

Can we emend our script to "XX member invited you to" if it is indeed true that a friend relationship is not needed to invite someone to a group?

is this an actual capture of the script he received? i was looking for some old ones to check but i think i deleted them all.
if this is what was sent i feel really bad that he got the invite with that language in it because he's right, it is very misleading. i had no idea, am so sorry it went out like this.
i'm glad he noticed this....
is it possible to customize the invitation? that's probably a whole big ball of wax / an added complication but it might mitigate confusion, especially if the group feature is used for a class by professors or grad students and/or they get a lot of emails from CUNY Commons. a customized invitation might reduce problems like this going forward.
most of the time i don't use the customized invite (like for LinkedIN), just usually click through. but for certain instances being able to control the invite might be very helpful.

Hi Erika,
Yes, that is the message he received.
Boone, it seems to me that my simple emendation of the script would be an easy way to go about this in the near term. Erika, why don't you create a separate ticket to request the ability to add a custom invitation message to group invites? Thanks.

Just to be clear: "script" here just means the text, right?
