Feature #25955
openMaking one line bio searchable in Member directory
0%
Description
Hi All,
Related to ticket #25390 in which I suggest CUNY BA students add "CUNY BA" to their one line bio as a way to surface CUNY BA students (as opposed to adding CUNY BA to campus list metadata)...
It seems that the one line bio that appears under the member name in the member directory is not included or searchable when you enter a search query in the member directory. Is there an easy way to include the one line bio in the information that is searched?

I believe that the One-Line Bio is included in keyword searches. See #8897 (when this field used to be called 'Brief Descriptor'). If you're not seeing this work as expected, perhaps you could share details about what you're searching for, and what results you are expecting but not getting.

I tried this at home yesterday and was unable to get results that made clear that the bio/descriptor was included in the search, but today from the GC it does appear that this is the case.
I tried searching evironmental psychology in one test and open education in another to see if I would come up in results. At home I did not, but at the GC I do.
I'll test again tomorrow (when I am home) and report back.
But all this is to say, if the bio/descriptor is searchable, I will go ahead and get backt o the CUNY BA folks with this idea for a workaround (as opposed to adding CUNY BA to the campus list)
Thanks!
