Transferring preludenyc.org pointer to preludenyc2013.commons.gc.cuny.edu
Currently we have preludenyc.org pointing to http://preludenyc2012.commons.gc.cuny.edu/ with the new festival coming in October we are going to shift that domain to http://preludenyc2013.commons.gc.cuny.edu/. We can change the domain pointer on the registration end, but I know last year you all needed to do something on the Commons backend to allow that to happen. Could that happen soon? and if so on what kind of time schedule? Does that fall into the monthly update schedule, if so we would love to expedite it today.
Thanks for this and all you guys do for us.

Hey, the domain name alias already existed so I believe no further change is needed server-side.
My recommendation would probably be to set the name record preludenyc.org to be a CNAME of commons.gc.cuny.edu, and make the commons sub-site have a generic name, like just preludenyc.commons.gc.cuny.edu and finally just change the domain mapping setting in WP every year.
Marking this request for requestor feedback for now, Kimon.

In https://github.com/castiron/cac/commit/9a73d1986c4b6e31fa571d6f7fa4ca192b9e7875, I added preludenyc.org to the whitelist of domains from which our WP installation will receive POST requests (allowing logins + comments)
Since the domain preludenyc.org was already pointed at our domain name, no registrar-level changes were necessary. I simply changed the domain mapping at the WordPress level. The changeover should be complete. Kimon, let me know if you experience any problems. http://preludenyc.org
