IT reports that this has been completed. Boone, can you please test? Thank you.

I can't tell whether it's correctly configured on the GC end because it appears that the DNS has not been changed. Scott, could you get in touch with the requester to make sure they've made the proper config changes at their registrar?

Just got a response from Bijan. He has not made changes on his side yet - waiting for his team to give final green light - he expects to go live on Nov 7.

Ah, gotcha. That sounds good. I've made the necessary changes on our end in advance, so that the switchover should be smooth when the time comes (though it won't be testable until then).

Here is an email I got from Bijan this afternoon:
"Here is the update.
I changed the CNAME alias via GoDaddy to point to commons.gc.cuny.edu, but cerg.commons.gc.cuny is redirecting to our old site hosted on the Graduate Center web server.
In the past I have linked the domain name to a new host by changing the name servers, and when I talked to GoDaddy support about the CNAME issue earlier this morning, they did not know how to help.
Any suggestions?"

cerg.commons.gc.cuny.edu directs to their old server because I've mapped the domain on the Commons - so the Commons redirects cerg.commons to cergnyc.org, which is hosted externally. So that explains that. As for the CNAME record, all I can really tell is that the domain is currently resolving to 146.96.128.48. Maybe they have conflicting A and CNAME records? I'm afraid this is more of a question for the registrar (GoDaddy).
