Description
Hi Boone,
I'm trying to embed this YouTube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xR1wvZmZ864) on this page on the Segal website (http://thesegalcenter.org/event/contemporary-theatre-from-argentina-matias-umpierrez/). When I try YouTube's embed code it gets stripped from the post when I hit publish. I've tried the WordPress shortcode [youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xR1wvZmZ864] and that hasn't worked either. For the Prelude website, I was able to embed a Scribd viewer using the plugin Jetpack's shortcode feature. After activating Jetpack on the Segal website I went to connect it to my personal WordPress account so that I could use its features and I saw this message:
Your website needs to be publicly accessible to use Jetpack: site_inaccessible
Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [HTTP 500]. Ask your web host if they allow connections from WordPress.com. If you need further assistance, contact Jetpack Support: http://jetpack.me/support/
I've attached a screenshot.
Do you have any ideas how I might be able to connect Jetpack? Or, any tips on how to embed YouTube videos on commons sites?
Thanks,
Alex

I'm not sure what's going on with Jetpack, but have you tried simply pasting the YouTube URL on its own line in the editor? Eg:
Here is some post content https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xR1wvZmZ864 here is the rest of my post
