Description

Is there a way to go beyond the current number of activity items featured on the news page? I'm interested in delving further back into the archive, but I don't know whether the currently limitation on the feed comes from Yahoo Pipes or some other restriction. It would be nice, at the bottom of the news page, to have an option that allowed us to browse previous entries.

I have made a few moves to increase the number of items that shows up on the news page. I haven't seen the changes take place yet, which is either because it takes a while for feed caches to clear or because there's another switch somewhere I haven't flipped.

In any case, the issue will be moot in BP 1.1. Right now the news page operates by parsing the RSS feed (which is where the item limitation comes from). In BP 1.1, when we have integrated our current WP theme into BP, we'll be able to use BP's native activity viewing function. The function allows you to page back through a much longer history of activity items. (It also lets you filter by where the item came from - blogs, groups, etc.)

In light of these considerations, I am going to close the ticket.
