Bug #5688

Thanks, Dan! Here's a list of next steps, as I see them:
1. Add r-a-y and cuny-academic-commons to the list of contributors in readme.txt, and make sure that your username is first, since you did most of the work :)
2. Create an account on wordpress.org. It doesn't look like rjbaniel exists there - if you already have one under a different name, be sure to change readme.txt so that your contributor name is the same as your wordpress.org name.
3. Once you have your account, go to https://wordpress.org/plugins/add/ and follow the steps to request space in the respository.
4. Wait to get the email that your plugin has been approved. (Let me know if this takes more than two or three days.)
5. Check out the svn repo (svn co https://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/bp-multiple-forum-post)
6. Create a screenshot or two, put in /assets, and reference in your readme.txt as described in https://make.wordpress.org/plugins/2012/09/13/last-december-we-added-header-images-to-the/
7. Create the first tag. I think it makes sense to change it to 1.0 (which will require making the change in the plugin files too). Create a GitHub release/tag at the same time.
Adding Ray as a watcher in case there's anything I've forgotten.
Excellent - thanks so much Boone and Ray! I've submitted it to wordpress.org. My username there is dan-jones.
Hey Boone - Just leaving a note that I haven't heard back about getting the plugin into the WP repository.
Hi Dan - I just looked, and it appears that the request was approved. Maybe the email got sent to spam? Anyway, you should be ready to go.
A brief guide to publishing to wordpress.org svn is at https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/5490#note-46 (points a through i). You want to give it a go, and let me know if you hit problems?
I've released the plugin, and tested it on a fresh-ish install. Seems to be working well!
- Status changed from Assigned to Resolved
Nice! I'll open a separate ticket for publicity tasks.
