Description

I embedded a bunch of screencasts from Vimeo to document the Woo Themes and everything was working find. Yesterday, I looked to see that all the screencasts now say "The creator of this video has not given you permission to embed it on this domain. This is a Vimeo Plus feature." http://codex.commons.gc.cuny.edu/blogs/themes/woo-themes/

I think Vimeo Plus costs about $60.00 a year - but my question is - would that really fix the issue? I do not see the screencasts on Vimeo anymore. My sense is that Woo converted to Vimeo Plus and now is not granting permission to others to embed their screencasts.

I've taken a look at the Vimeo Plus site; it appears to me that the entity uploading videos is the one that needs to have the Vimeo Plus account so as to allow external embedding. So I think you're right, Scott.

Would you mind contacting WooThemes about this? Please explain to them that we have purchased membership and wish to embed their screencasts to help our members use their themes. They might not be aware of these new Vimeo Plus features, or we might help them reconsider their settings.

WooThemes got back to me right away: They recently set up a page (http://www.woothemes.com/videos/) with seventeen videos (including all the ones which I embedded) which everyone (not just signed-in members) can use. I will change our Woo documentation to link to this page, rather than embedding the videos. I am setting the status of this ticket to resolved.
