Description

Following on Kelly's really helpful assessment of CAC themes, I've pulled together a list of 10 that we might consider adding in. Most of these are clean, modern themes, inspired by Medium or Bootstrap aesthetics, responsive, etc.

Not sure how the team wants to proceed, but figured we could discuss that here as the semester approaches. Will add Kelly as a watcher-- Kelly, would be great to get your input given that you sorted through what we already have.

(seems I can't add watchers.... Matt, could you please tag Kelly?)

Thanks, Luke. I've added Kelly as a watcher (Kelly -- fyi, please check out this ticket)

Luke, I've also changed your role here on Redmine so that you should now be able to add watchers in the future; please let me know whether that doesn't turn out to be the case.

BTW -- I think these themes generally look great, Luke. My only concern is that at first glance, the first 3-4 in your list look very similar, but I gave them only a quick look. Nonetheless, I think we definitely need some new themes and these seems like great directions to move in.

Who's going to make the call here? The themes look okay to me, but I agree that it probably doesn't make sense to add all of them if they're very similar.

Boone, I think that Luke is off on vacation for a week. Luke, when you are back, can you please either a) take a shot at pruning this list a bit, so that we're not creating more theme bloat, or b) explaining why you think they should all be added? Thank you

I'd say Sydney, Zerif Lite, onetone, Klean, and Tempo are the most distinct on the list, but this is without having had a chance to load them and check out how they're administered. I won't have a chance to do that this week, and in the interest of getting some new themes up before the semester starts perhaps we can load those five and then revisit later in the fall.

Sounds like a plan. Thanks, Luke.

Luke - Does this mean you want me to wait until you've had a chance to check them out, or should I go ahead and add them for the release on Sept 1?

Please go ahead and add them for the 9/1 release.

I'll network activate these five themes as part of the 1.9.26 release.

Luke, do you want to leave this ticket open so it can be used for review of the themes, or can we close it and handle new issues separately? (My preference is to keep things linked to a milestone, which suggests that the ticket should be resolved, but I'll defer to you.)

We can close this and I'll open a new one if necessary for reviews.
