Description

Hi All,

We are having a very weird thing with our events plug-in.

At the bottom of each individual event page, there are links to other recommended events that students might also be interested in. Unfortunately, the date attached to these events always erroneously appears as the date listed for the page's featured event (so for our upcoming event on September 13, the recommended events include three other events that have already occurred, but were on similar topics. According to the website, however, these events will also happen on Sept 13). I've attached a screenshot to illustrate the issue.

Stephen Klein kindly took a look for us and was unsure what was happening.

Thanks for any ideas you may have.

Jenny

Hi Jennifer - Thanks for the report. Can you please share a URL that demonstrates the problem?

Sorry, Boone. That would have made more sense.

https://careerplan.commons.gc.cuny.edu/events/basics-of-applying-to-grad-school/

The events at the bottom are past events--which is fine, it's fine to show these--but they have the wrong date. They are assigned the same date as the event listed (Sept. 13)

Same thing on all our events.

Another example:

Thanks,

Jenny

Hi Jenny - Sorry for the delay here.

I looked into this in some depth, and found a bug in events-manager that was causing the problem that you (accurately!) described. I've reported the bug to the plugin developer: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/event-datetime-being-filtered-too-aggressively/ I've also put a workaround fix in place for the Commons, which should be immediately available. Check out https://careerplan.commons.gc.cuny.edu/events/basics-of-applying-to-grad-school/ to see it in action.

A reference to our fix, for internal purposes: https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cac/commit/dbc137bd9318bc235b2643b748dedf1c0e359fbb

Let me know if there's anything else I can help with.
