The problem here is that the buttons in question (RSS and Polls) are created by third-party plugins that are not written to operate properly outside the WP Dashboard. If at some point we determine that it is very important for a particular button to operate in the context of BP Docs, I could consider taking the time to modify the plugin to make it work on the front end. For now, I have written a little function that removes those buttons from BP Docs edit pages.
