Feature #64
closedCreate links to file attachments in BP Forum Subscription Plugin

Description
Per our conversation in Friday's AC meeting, it would be good to have links to attachments (or at least indications that there are attachments) in email notifications of forum posts. One thing to consider, though, is that direct links to attachments won't work if users aren't logged in. If we include links to attachments rather than just indications that there are attachments, we should customize the error pages that non-logged-in users run into and/or include a reminder about having to log in to see private groups in the notification itself.

- Priority name changed from Low to Normal
As more and more people use the Commons to share documents, this is becoming a little more important -- so I'm upgrading it from low to normal.

And one update: even if we don't include links to file attachments, it would be cool to indicate that they were attached to the forum post.
example text that could appear at the end of the notification:
File Attachments:
xyz.doc
abc.ppt

I took some time to play with this feature request this morning. It's very difficult to make direct links to the attachments work, because of a variety of technical issues related to the way that Buddypress and the attachment plugin handle file paths. It is easy to add the filenames and a download message to the emails, though. An example text is below:

The text "and download the attachments" does not appear if there are no attachments. Likewise with "This post has attachments:"
Let me know what you think of this solution.

I think that's perfect. All we really need is a way to let people know that the attachments are there. Let's do it!
