Description

Michael requests a way to randomize a header image on a blog. My guess is that this is a theme-dependent function. What are your thoughts, Boone?

This is theme dependent for the most part.

Scott and Sarah, you may be more familiar with our variety of themes than I am. Can you think of any themes that have this feature? Atahualpa is supposed to allow it, but I think it's finicky.

Hi Boone - No, I haven't come across any randomized sliders - I seem to remember that Atahualpa used to do it in a former version, but I just looked and didn't see any evidence of it now.

The feature is still there in Atahualpa, it's just poorly documented. If you upload multiple files to your Media area with titles like atahualpa_header_1.png atahualpa_header_2.jpg etc, Atahualpa will randomize them (in keeping with your settings at Dashboard > Appearance > Atahualpa Theme Options > Header Options).

So, I'm going to conclude that this is a theme-based issue. If the same functionality is needed in another theme, it will have to be manually ported. There is, for the most part, no real way to make this work in a cross-theme way because of the way that headers are included in WP themes.

Scott, can you create a new support ticket to add Boone's info above to our site documentation? Thanks.
