Description

This morning Tony P. told me that he installed the new Hit Counter plugin on his blog (http://apicciano.commons.gc.cuny.edu/). I visited the site and saw it there in the upper right-hand corner of the site.

Tony then wrote this afternoon to tell me that the counter had disappeared. I took a look, and indeed, it had. I looked at the Dashboard -- it's enabled, and it appears to me that it should be showing up.

One oddity -- when I loaded the page this afternoon, I briefly saw the CUNY logo at the top of the page (I think it was the image in our footer). So I wonder whether it is perhaps the case that there is a pageload issue or whether Tony's theme is getting in the way.

It is loaded near the footer, so it's possible that something was happening on a particular page load, or getting caught in the cache, so that the item wasn't fully loading. But I don't see anything wrong right now.

Weird -- I see it now, too. This might be a result of a change in the settings that I recommended to Tony -- that he have it only record unique visitors; he was surprised that the counter reached almost 6000 visits in a week.
