closedPlugin request: Easy Footnotes
0%
Description
The current footnotes plugin on the Commons, FD Footnotes, is no longer being maintained (as of about a year ago, i.e. May 2016: https://wordpress.org/plugins/fd-footnotes/ ).
I'd like to request an alternative be installed on the Commons: [Easy Footnotes](https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-footnotes/), which seems easy to insert (the format is [note]%reference%[/note] ), easy to target with CSS, and by default uses a jQuery plugin (Qtip 2) to show the footnote text when hovering the cursor over the footnote number. It's in a stable release, tested up through WordPress 4.7.4, and seems to get rapid responses from users with questions. I don't know how it behaves if the JQuery isn't present, whether it's really built in or not.
I'm also open to other footnote plugins, if the Commons Team has had good experiences with one in particular. But this one seemed promising.
Thanks in advance,
Ben
