CUNY Academic Commons

Two items:

1) On the very first item, I have run into a weird thing updating these links. Once I have fixed a link via edit mode, I then test. When I mouse over a link it displays "codex.commons.gc.cuny.edu/...." However, when I click the link, it takes me to "help.commons.gc.cuny.edu/..." Can you explain?

2) We have some "About" content that we link to from these pages. It works well enough, but the styling of those pages are different than the new Help. Does this matter? I do not think it does, but I wanted to flag this at get somebody else's view.

Hi Steve - Can you give a specific example of item 1? I'm looking at https://help.commons.gc.cuny.edu/managing-your-privacy/ and it looks like all the links go to help.commons - both on hover and on click.

What seems to be happening is that the change from codex to has gone through but the codex link still appears when the mouse is hovering over the link on the edit page only. So if you go to https://help.commons.gc.cuny.edu/can-reduce-spam-site/(post=6766) and actually click on the word "post", it redirects fine to https://help.commons.gc.cuny.edu/blogs/spam/

Yes, I see what you mean. In that specific case, the codex URL is still set as the 'title' attribute. Please look at https://help.commons.gc.cuny.edu/wp-admin/post.php?post=6766&action=edit for the word 'codex' to see the text that must be changed.

Scott has advised that we go to the “text” view and change it there. This seems to be solving it. I'd only been working in "visual".

I fixed these last "codex" references. I did find a number of broken links while I was testing. Can you give us a report of all the broken links on the Help Pages? One reason was that the 'names' of some of the pages have changed in small ways. I am sure we still have a few out there that were missed during this project. A list that identifies the page and the url of the broken link(s) on that page, would really useful. Is that doable?
