Description

Scott created a new teaching site and wanted to share it with the Commons team. I think he attached the blog to a new group rather than attaching to the CAC team, I assume because we already have another blog tied to the group. This made me wonder whether we should look into the ability to tie multiple blogs to a single group. Possible use cases:

-- a team has multiple projects, wants team members synced across multiple blogs
-- a team wants auto-notifications on multiple blogs posted to a single group to keep it updated on multiple projects

I realize that some of this might be implemented by adding RSS feeds. And I wonder whether the architecture of the group/blog connection makes this possible or is a no-go from the beginning. But I think it's an idea for us to talk about and think through

It'd take a lot of reworking of the underlying architecture to make this work.

It seems like a reasonable end goal, and if there are other aspects of the groupblog link that you'd like to rethink - as I think you've suggested in the past - then it'd definitely make sense to make many-to-many relationships part of the new system. But I think it would be more work than it's worth to bolt this feature onto the system we've already got.

Okay -- thanks. Let's see whether this comes up again, and for now, let's put it in future release
