Description
A new plugin adds the functionality to search and use CC-licensed images. This might be of interest and connect to our current work supporting OER and teaching on the Commons.
The plugin allows the author to search and use CC-lisensed images via a pop-up window in WordPress editor and the authors does not need to worry about copyright of images. This might also offer a space to add some pedagogical language about image use. something faculty ask about often.

This is a very new plugin so we may want to wait while bugs are worked out - I got this info from an email on the WP-EDU listserv.

I just played with the plugin a little bit, and it's very cool. The main limitation is that it doesn't work with the Block editor. That said, I think we should go ahead and install it.
Great, thanks Boone!
I know the Block editor is standard for WP these days but I will say that professors and first time users of the Commons find it really confusing (esp with the large space for custom CSS below the content area). I usually need to show them how to switch to the classic editor and though I realize this is not a long term solution, I just wanted add this anecdote to highlight how the block editor isn't great on several levels...
Thanks, Laurie. Regarding the Custom CSS issue - I have noticed that it's annoying too. If you'd like to open a separate ticket to see what we can do about mitigating (closing by default, etc), please feel free.

Great, thanks Boone. It hasn't been updated in 3 months, so maybe another update will make steps towards making compatible with block editor? I'll keep an eye on it.
