User Adelina Borrero (mailto:Aborr5621@stu.hostos.cuny.edu) doesn’t appear in the user list, but is told that the email is already in use if she tries to register. Resetting the password doesn’t work either.

The user exists, with username adelina. The user list you're looking at is for the main site, and this user does not have a role on the main site.
The password reset utility ought to work fine. Can you say more about how it doesn't work?

By the looks of things, there's a space in the email address she's entered into the field. It should be a period. She could also try resetting using the username adelina.
