Lihua, could you please modify the Apache config?
Hi Boone and Scott,
Before forwarding any domain mapping requests, could either of you do some basic sanity check on the domain?
I don't think the CNAME was set up correctly.
If you have access to linux shell, you can do 'nslookup domainname' to see how things resolve. Or you can use https://www.whatsmydns.net/ to check name resolution.
I think the user used IP address as CNAME instead of a domain name.
That is, if you want to set up A record for the domain, you should use IP address. If you want to set up CNAME for the domain, you should use another domain as the "alias".
Using IP in a CNAME will literally make the ip address as a domain name, rendering name resolution impossible.
Hi Lihua - I have asked Sam to point his CNAME record to commons.gc.cuny.edu instead. I will let you know when it is done.
Hi Lihua - CNAME record is now pointing to commons.gc.cuny.edu.
this has been configured on the server end.
- Status changed from New to Resolved
