Feature #1325
closedRemove hard-coded copyright notice from WooThemes

Description
A member using the Commons for an institutional purpose (setting up a site for faculty training) asked me to remove the copyright notice in the footer of the Canvas theme (made by WooThemes). It looks to me like the only way to do that is in the php file, so I'm just going to change the theme. But I think that we should remove such copyright notices from the footers of woothemes files. Ordinarily, i'd say we shouldn't do that because they'd get overwritten on upgrade, but we're not upgrading woothemes anyway (a separate problem, I suppose), so perhaps this is okay. I welcome your thoughts.
P.S. I tried adding some custom css, which is allowed on the dashboard, to make the text the same color as the background, but that didn't seem to work.

OK. I will have a look.
In the meantime, try setting the parent element to display: none;. This is a better technique than changing text color.

Will try that. BTW, appears that this is coded not just into WooThemes, but other themes as well. Weird.

A Woothemes copyright is hardcoded into non-Woo themes? Or just a copyright notice in general?
