Related to https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/15122 : incidentally, when I couldn't click on a subject line to read the message, I clicked "read," thinking that that would allow me to read the message, but it looked like doing so marked the message as read. that seems a bit confusing to me; instead of "Read | Delete" I'm wondering whether we should have "Mark as Read | Delete"

Category name set to BuddyPress (misc)
Target version set to 1.19.1

"Mark as Read" seems fine to me, as long as we have room for it. Ray, do you have an opinion?

I've renamed the "Read/unread" link to "Mark read/unread" instead of "Mark as read/unread": https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cac/commit/19049030e1c716bcb0c0ce86e3acfdac95ed64e9. See attached screenshot.

Reason being is the "Bulk Actions" dropdown menu uses "Mark read/unread" and we should be consistent. If we prefer "Mark as read/unread" instead, let me know.
