Description
I am wondering why I sometimes am prompted for a verification code when I log in? Does it happen to all users every time, or is there an IP logic, etc? Thanks, no rush

I don't recall having seen this. Could you please provide the exact language of the message, ideally with a screenshot?

Hi Marilyn,
Can you take a screenshot of the verification code screen? I think you might have set up Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) under the Two-Factor Authentication portion of your settings page: https://help.commons.gc.cuny.edu/can-change-password/.
If you did enable TOTP and want to disable it, uncheck it on your Settings page and you shouldn't see the verification code screen anymore.

No I didn't enable TOTP (see screenshot)

Hi Marilyn,
In the screenshot, it looks like you have "Email" enabled as a Two-Factor Authentication option. So that would also cause a verification code screen to appear everytime you log in.
If you do not want to see this verification code screen when you log in, uncheck the "Enabled" checkbox for the "Email" option and save.
