Description

Jason Nielsen (APO to DH) reports:
"I believe this is added to beginning of each message we send out via the Commons?
"[CUNY Academic Commons]"

I could be wrong, but I vaguely remembered that we removed that so that people could see the particular content of the subject line more immediately?"

I (Marilyn) see that in January it wasn’t like that:

Subject: Release today (and proofreading request)

But now it is like that:

From: Jason Nielsen <>

Here is an example from Friday. Maybe this -- [CUNY Academic Commons] -- started recently. I can look back at my emails to see.

Thanks,
Jason

This is a reoccurrence of #15675.

On March 28th, we updated BuddyPress from v10.6.0 to v11.1.0. I'm guessing an upgrade routine to the BuddyPress email templates caused BPGES to reinstall its templates several times over. #15677 should have addressed this, but perhaps something changed upstream in BuddyPress to break the fix.

For now, I have trashed the duplicate BPGES templates on production (for those with super admin access, view this link) and this should address the issue for the moment. However, I'll look into how the duplicate email templates were created in the coming days.

I was able to duplicate the problem locally. Fix added in https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cac/commit/1fa1a7dbe889435bc96a9e2859ee695bd087d4fd . I've also added a PR to the buddypress-group-email-subscription Github repo - https://github.com/boonebgorges/buddypress-group-email-subscription/pull/235.
