Per Maura's suggestions, "Remove" or "remove from group" might work.

This will take some active development. It's not just a matter of changing the terminology, because kicking someone out of a group actually does ban them from joining again. There is no simple "remove from group" function in BP. I would have to write it.

I'll put it on my roadmap.

Revisiting this.

Is the problem that the language is bad? I can change that pretty easily.

Or is the problem that members who have been "kicked" (removed) from a group cannot rejoin it without permission from the group admin?

Or do we want to change both of these behaviors? If so, they deserve different tickets, as their solutions will be very different.

It's both the language and the functionality. Just because I want to kick someone out of a group doesn't necessarily mean I want to ban them from ever joining again. It's weirdly severe.

I'll open two new tickets and close this one.
