Description
Hi everyone, I'm trying to invite Mariana Regalado (http://commons.gc.cuny.edu/members/regalado) to join the LILAC group, which is a private group, and she's not getting the email invites. She's gotten invites from other groups just fine in the past, and hasn't ever had any trouble getting Commons notifications at her Brooklyn College email address, which is what she uses on the Commons.
It occurred to me today that the reason she might not be getting them is that about a year ago I removed her from the LILAC group because she was going on leave from the committee. The only way I could figure out how to remove her was to Kick & Ban her, so that's what I did. As I think on it now I realize that was probably not the best way to do it -- I should have asked her to leave the group on her own. But I didn't. Could this be impacting her ability to join the group again?
Thanks for taking a look!

Thanks, Maura -- hopefully, you've already put your finger on the issue.
- Status changed from Assigned to Reporter Feedback
Hi Maura. It appears that you've identified the problem correctly. I can either: (a) add her to the group manually, or (b) delete all record of her having been a member of the group, so that you can invite her again. (It's actually easier to do (a), but I want to clear it with you first.)
Let me know!
Whichever is easier for you is fine for us, thanks Boone! And in the future I will refrain from kicking & banning unless absolutely necessary.
- Status changed from Reporter Feedback to Resolved
Hm. Between the time when I wrote that message 18 minutes ago, and when I just logged in, somehow Mariana actually managed to join the group. I'm not sure how - did you manually unban her from the Admin section?
In the future, there is a "Remove Member" button in Group Admin > Members, which does not ban the user in question.
Making this as Resolved - please let me know if there's still an issue that needs to be fixed.
Ha, I thought that the reason that the Remove Member link appeared by Mariana's name is that you did something to make it appear, Boone! Yes, I clicked that link and she's in fine now. Thanks!
(I think the Remove member option wasn't available when I had to get her out of the group before, which I'm now realizing was probably more like 18 months ago.)
