Bug #21269
closedEmbedding Google Earth Projects on the COmmons

Description
Hi All,
A user is asking about embedding google earth projects on the Commons.
It looks like this may require a plugin that works with KML files. This plugin may work? https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-flexible-map/
I have asked for a sample link from the user to determine the type of Google Earth project they are working with.
Is embedding google earth projects possible on the commons/wordpress? I could not find much info online. Does this plugin look like it might work, and be the right fit for the Commons?
Thanks!

It doesn't look like Google Earth has a dedicated embedding feature or API.
We could try installing the Flexible Map plugin on the Commons, but the user would need to create a Google Maps API key to use for their site as per the Flexible Map FAQ: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-flexible-map/#do%20i%20need%20an%20api%20key%3F. Then it might be possible to use the KML file for embedding.
