Description
Hi All,
Reporting a weird issue that came in through the help desk yesterday:
User ldellaira created the site disabilitylifewriting2025.commons.gc.cuny.edu . During creation she set the privacy settings to admins only. Once the site was created she was not added to the site as an admin and the site had no users.
She wrote to the help desk asking for help accessing the site. Marilyn made me an admin on the site and then I was able to add her.
Perhaps she was not added to the site during creation because the creation process took too long and there was some kind of time out before she could be added as the admin?
I have not seen this happen before but just wanted to log this issue to have a record of it.
- Description updated (diff)
It's likely that is due to long-running group creation.
Do you have information about precisely how the site was created? I don't think it was a clone, was it? What layout/template was used?
Sorry I don't have much more info from the user except:
"I created a new CUNY Commons event site, disabilitylifewriting2025.commons.gc.cuny.edu and set the permissions to Visible Only to Site Administrators since I am sandboxing it. "
I believe the default template was used and it was not clone.
- Status changed from New to Hold
- Target version set to Not tracked
Thanks for following up. I don't think there's much I can do here without specific steps to reproduce. I'm guessing it's due to an overlong site setup, though I would've associated this more with a clone than with a non-clone. In any case, I'll leave the ticket open for follow-up if we hear of another similar instance.
