Matt,
I've upgraded the Luna theme using the 1.9 files you emailed me. I am opening the issue related to child theming this setup next.
I think we can mark this as resolved later tonight, after I've verified that the site is working, after we push 1.4.10.

I verified that the update to 1.9 has not broken anything on the site. Closing issue.
