Description

In the site creation process, we are adding in the ability to select a site image that will show up in the directory. I called it the "Site Photo." I would love to discuss if there's a better way to word it or if we need verbiage about where else it would show up.

  • Category name set to Blogs (BuddyPress)
  • Target version set to 2.8.0

Came across this while looking through old tickets. It appears that this feature was never in fact implemented. Is it something we want to do?

It seems like a non-trivial number of site owners are finding their way to using WP's Site Icon tool, which is integrated with the avatars that you see on the Sites directory. https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/sites/ Anything that we introduced into the site creation flow would have to integrate with Site Icon.

I feel like we had this discussion in the not-too-distant past, but I'm having a hard time finding it. Ray, I think you know more about the way that site icons work better than I do. Do you have any recollection or thought about introducing something like this into the site creation process?
