We don't have group blogs on commonsinabox.org, so it can't be exactly the same problem or solution. Can you please provide more details?

Sure. I joined our two groups on the site and set my notification settings to all email. All notifications of forum posts appear to be truncated excerpts, followed by […]. Sample screenshot attached.
