I see that the user has been successfully invited at the WordPress level. No notification should be expected for this action when logging into the Commons (it's not built into BP, though it's not a bad idea now that I think about it). But an email should have been received.

Matt, could I ask you to submit a request to IT for a recent copy of the maillog to be copied to the commons user's home directory? Thanks.

From Raghav: I have given access to /var/log/maillog to commons user. This will allow you to check mail logs directly. Please test.

Thanks, Matt. This worked, but unfortunately enough time has passed that the current maillog no longer contains the time period in question. Can you ask Raghav to grant access to maillog-20140914 and maillog-20140907?

Any updates on this? Carrie has reached out to us again about this. Stephen Spencer still does not have access to the blog.

Sorry about the delay - I forgot that I'd been granted direct access to the required maillog (it wasn't updated in this ticket, but it happened elsewhere and I was informed directly).

I've checked the logs and see a number of outgoing emails to Stephen from Sep 11 and Sep 12. I see no indication that there were failures, at least not at the mailserver level. I'm afraid I don't have access to the contents of the emails, so I can't say anything more conclusive than this.

Given that this appears to be an isolated incident (haven't heard of any more situations like this - it would be a big problem if it were, say, Brooklyn-College-wide), I'd suggest that I manually add Stephen to the blog. Could you check with Carrie that this will be OK, and double-check the Role that she'd like for him?

Added. Please have Carrie verify, and please send my apologies for the troubles and for the delay.
