Feature #3473
openCommons profile: Add help info about "Positions" replacing "title"
0%
Description
Following up on http://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/3470
The "positions" field replaced the "title" field in the commons profiles. If a user had the "title" field filled out previously, it will be displayed until the newer "positions" field is filled out, but there is no indication of this on the "edit profile" page.
This ticket is to request that explanation of this change be added to the "edit profile" page since the "title" field is no longer visible nor user editable.
Expected behavior:
-A help message is displayed on the "edit profile" page containing an explanation of this change.
-The help text should be hidden if the "positions" field is filled out and/or "title" field is empty.
Notes:
-Help text should contain the text "title" in it, and possibly (depending on implementation/layout/ui) contain the existing "title" field's value, both of which would make the page searchable to help users figure out that this change occurred.
-Possible implementation might use a modal dialog box or styled alert message at the top of the screen when the logged-in user views their own profile or the "edit profile" page.

Chris, if you can come up with something fairly simple, we can move this back to 1.7. Thanks.

What is the status of this issue? Is the requirement defined clearly enough for inclusion in 1.8?

Bumping this issue to the next release since we have to freeze 1.8 and this has not been addressed.

Sam, if you have any thoughts, they'd be welcome. (This ticket becomes less relevant as time goes on, as it's only relevant for legacy users.)
