Description
Hi guys,
Gina Rae Foster (http://commons.gc.cuny.edu/members/ginaraefoster/), one of the members of the Eportfolios group is not able to post to the group blog even though I see her listed as a blog administrator when I'm logged into the dashboard. I can also see here name listed under the blog authors when I go to the blog: http://eportfolios.commons.gc.cuny.edu/.
I'm not sure if Barbara Walters (who is the group admin) enabled the group blog or just added members in the dashboard, but Gina is unable to access the dashboard and/or posts. There are no blogs associated with her profile and she told me that only thing she has under "My Blogs" is "create a blog". I'm not sure what's at the root of this problem, but she has been "alternating between a Mac Leopard on a MacBookPro and MS2007 on a Lenovo tablet, using Firefox on both." Please let me know if you need additional information and I will be happy to reach out to Gina.
Thanks,
Sarah

Hi Boone,
I just sent her a message asking her to visit the URL. I will update this ticket when she responds.
Thanks,
Sarah
- Target version set to 1.1.1
This suggests that BuddyPress (which is responsible for maintaining the My Blogs dropdown and profile page) didn't properly run the blog refresh script when the Gina was added. I will do that when 1.1.1 is released in a few days.
I would be curious to know, however, whether this is an isolated incident or whether there is some systematic problem here. I noticed that the ePortfolios blog is not set up to add users automatically as authors, which suggests that Barbara does it manually. I ran a few tests on my local installation, and I wasn't able to reproduce the issue when adding users to blogs in this way. Perhaps you could ask her how she did it?
I will follow up with Barbara, but I believe that she added each member through the dashboard. Also, should I ask her to just enable the group blog or should we wait to see what has caused this problem?
Best,
Sarah
Please do follow up with her about how she added Gina. But there is no reason to ask her to change the way she uses the blog, though - this should work equally well either way.
- Status changed from Assigned to Hold
- Status changed from Hold to Resolved
I'm in the middle of the upgrade and my fix appeared to work. Marking resolved.
