Description
I think the pop-up asking people to take the survey should be short and sweet. How about this?

- Assignee changed from Matt Gold to Samantha Raddatz
- Target version set to 1.9.11
I'm putting this into the 1.9.11 milestone, but we can launch before or after March 21, as we see fit. I'll just need a few minutes to implement the popup. Let me know what you'd like for timing.
Also, regarding behavior:
- Clicking the X in the upper right will close the window permanently
- We want some link at the end of the text to close the window. It currently says "Close Window", but I think that "No thanks" is better?
- Should the survey open in a new browser tab? If yes, should it also close the popup?

Thanks, Boone.
The current plan is to turn this on Monday or Tuesday.

Perfect.

I think it could be helpful to still make it clear that clicking the link will close the pop-up. Maybe "No, thanks. Close this pop up."
- Should the survey open in a new browser tab? If yes, should it also close the popup?
Yes, new tab please (Matt may disagree). In either case, close the pop-up, please.

Thanks, Sam. Overlay added in https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cac/commit/8d0baebfc0c2f33d6919edf648c65770f53e5371 and ready to test on cdev.gc.cuny.edu. (Only shows up for logged-in users.)
I kept the "Close Window" text as-is. Let me know if you'd like it (or anything else) changed.

Nope -- don't disagree. Seems fine. Thanks.

Sam - The popup is live again on cdev (following up from this morning's phone call). cdev is currently very sluggish, though, so if it's not loading well for you, check back in a while. I've got an inquiry in with IT to address cdev performance.

Looks good to me!
Since I'm traveling today, I vote we turn this on tomorrow (Tuesday) whenever you're able, Boone.
Does that sound good, Matt, Paige?

Hi all - The popup is now live. Let me know if you see any problems.
I assume that you'll want to shut the popup off after a certain period of time - no use in collecting data after analysis has begun. Please let me know when/if you'd like it to be disabled.

Hi Boone,
Is there any way to control how many times a user will see the pop-up on login/logout? Right now, it appears to me that the user will only see it once, and that if the user closes the pop-up window, it will never be seen again. I wonder if we shouldn't have it open a second time the next time the user logs out/logs in, just in case it was dismissed accidentally or because the person didn't have enough time to fill it out.
Or, perhaps we could have two different "Close this window" and "Never show this to me again" links. Boone, Sam, what do you think?

This is possible, but not on the current implementation. By design, the popup goes away forever the first time you close it. See https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/5298#note-2 and https://redmine.gc.cuny.edu/issues/5298#note-3 ("permanently")
At this point, I would suggest making no changes for the existing popup, because it could be annoying for people who've already closed - and possibly completed the survey - to see it again. For future popups, it would be fine to make whatever mods you deem necessary.
