Description
When we compose a message, would it be possible to have an attachment button at the bottom of the message, just in case we would like to send out an attachment?

I don't see any plugins like this already created for BuddyPress, Rowena, but we can add it to our list of future development possibilities.
Boone, do you have any knowledge of an existing plugin that might create this functionality, or do you have any concerns about adding this functionality to the messaging system?

I built a plugin that does this, for the General Chemistry project. Let's take a look.
I'm gonna go for this for 1.10. I think it's a pretty easy win.

I've just pushed a basic version of this to cdev. The attached screenshot shows the interface for messages that have attachments as well as the posting interface. As you can see, there are no frills, but it should work as advertised. Uploaded attachments are all private, and can only be downloaded by people who are participants in the thread.
Have a look and let me know whether this is something we want to go with for 1.11.
