I've made the change on the Commons. But it appears that the DNS changes have not taken place. Scott, I'm reassigning to you to make sure the user knows what has to happen on the registrar's end.

Hi - the mapping is still not working. On Godaddy, there seems to be only three fields that need to be entered for CNAME - "host", "points to", and "TTL" (for caching). See attached. I had Artem enter "www" for host and commons url. Also tried his subdomain name and the commons url. Neither seemed to work. Can you advise as to what's the right input? Thanks.

I am finding mixed information about whether Godaddy's DNS tool allows CNAME records on root domains. My best understanding is that it does not, but that you can fake it by (a) setting a CNAME for 'www' that points to commons.gc.cuny.edu, and then (b) setting domain forwarding on the root domain to go to the www subdomain. See http://stackoverflow.com/a/11494197
