I can't tell from the title of this ticket or the link what this ticket is about . . . . can you explain?

There was a request that BuddyPress Docs support some form of file attachment. The linked ticket is a discussion of how that might happen.

  • Target version changed from 1.3 to 1.4

I have not heard any user requests for this, so I'm going to bump it off to the next feature release. It'll be a big job and will take some team thinking about how the UX should work.

Ray has already started some work on building an abstracted uploads API for BP. Let's revisit and consider making improved and unified uploads (Docs, Files, forum attachments) a marquee feature for 1.6.

  • Status changed from Assigned to Rejected
  • Target version deleted (1.6)

Uploads are already fully integrated into BuddyPress Docs. Not the version that we have here on the Commons, but the issue of our being out of sync with later versions of Docs is already covered in #2606. When and if we adopt the new Docs, we can have a discussion about how/whether we'll migrate from our old Files system to a Docs-only version. But for the time being, I don't think there's actually anything to be done with respect to this ticket (outside of the more general issue #2606).
